Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark will compete in a golf event alongside World No.1 woman golfer Nelly Korda, as per recent reports. Clark's incredible basketball season came to an end in September after the Fever were knocked out of the WNBA playoffs.
She is an avid golfer and has previously admitted to pursuing the sport professionally. Although she is not turning pro anytime soon, Clark might be pairing up with a professional golfer for a match on the LPGA Tour.
The 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year will be playing at The Annika driven by Gainbridge pro-am event next month and accroding to Golfweek, she will join Korda on the greens. They will be playing a nine-hole pro-am tournament, which takes place ahead of the official event scheduled from November 14 to 17.
Caitlin Clark previously competed at the John Deere Classic pro-am event in 2023. She was paired with Swedish golfer Ludvig Åberg and former USA Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson. Now, in 2024, the WNBA star will again be on the greens but competing on the LPGA Tour.
Notably, earlier this year, Clark opened up about her plans to play golf during the off-season and also reflected on her desire to turn pro. She said (via Golf Week):
“I don’t know what I’m going to do tomorrow. I don’t know what I’m going to do the next day. Maybe play some golf. That’s what I’m gonna do until it gets too cold in Indiana. I’ll become a professional golfer.”
The LPGA Tour was quick to respond to her request, and soon she will be playing in a pro-am tournament on the circuit. Moreover, a day prior to the event, the Iowa star will join the panelists for the Women's Leadership Summit.

Caitlin Clark opened up about competing in the Annika driven by Gainbridge competition during a press release last week. She reflected on her love for the game and her desire to play alongside the stellar field of LPGA Tour players. She said (via Reuters):
"I love golf, so the opportunity to play in the pro-am for a tournament with a legend like Annika Sorenstam's name on it is so exciting. Gainbridge is a leader in supporting women's sports, and that's clear through their commitment to me, this event, Billie Jean King, and Parity Week.
"I'm looking forward to seeing all the LPGA players on the driving range, being part of the Women's Leadership Summit, and, of course, teeing it up in the pro-am with Annika," Caitlin Clark added.
Nelly Korda recently withdrew from two LPGA Tour events in Asia due to an injury.
Korda has had an incredible season on the LPGA Tour in 2024, winning six tournaments, including a major at the Chevron Championship. Meanwhile, Clark has had a phenomenal season this year.
