Bubba Watson recently explained the reason behind the LIV Golf pros' love for the Greenbrier's Old White Course course. He felt the condition of the course played a huge factor in the low scores here.

Watson is in Greenbrier for the 12th event of the LIV Golf season. This will be his first event since the LIV Golf UK last month. He is looking for his first win in more than six years.

On Thursday, August 15, during the pre-event press conference for the LIV Golf Greenbrier, Watson shed light on the low scores at the Old White Course. Last year, Bryson DeChambeau shot a record 12-under 58, breaking the previous course record of 59 and becoming the third player to shoot under 60 at this venue.

"I think the first thing is the condition of the course," Watson said. "It’s always in great shape when you are in the fairway; you know you are going to have a lot of wedges if you are hitting your driver 360 and straight."
"But I think it’s the condition of the course first. The greens are running really nice and smooth, so that gives you confidence. Then if you're hitting your driver well. I think if you look at everybody, obviously they're all playing well to shoot in the 50s, but this place breeds that confidence in you, like you start making putts," he added.

When will Bubba Watson tee off at the LIV Golf Greenbrier, Round 1?

Bubba Watson is grouped with Cameron Smith and Brooks Koepka for the opening round of the LIV Golf Greenbrier. The trio will be the second group of the day and will tee off in a shotgun start at 1:15 pm ET from the second hole.

The two-time Masters Tournament champion has had a poor year, currently sitting at 51st in the LIV season standings. He has failed to achieve any top-10 finishes, with a 15th-place finish in Las Vegas being his best performance. Additionally, he missed the cut at Augusta National.

Bubba Watson has been in a trophy drought since the 2018 Travelers Championship and is still searching for his first win on the LIV Golf circuit. It will be interesting to see if he can end the drought soon or if the wait will continue.
