Adam Scott made his 11th Presidents Cup appearance at the Royal Montreal Golf Club and set an International Team record. The Aussie won his 22nd point at the tournament, which is now a record tally in the history of the International Team.
Adam Scott, paired with Taylor Pendrith, won the Friday foursomes for the international team with 5 & 4. Scott and Pendrith gave Sahith Theegala and Collin Morikawa from the US team a tough time by winning six holes throughout the match.
After Adam Scott, Ernie Els has the most points in the international team. He earned 21 points in his eight appearances and led the international team as captain in 2019.
Coming to the best Presidents Cup records, Phil Mickelson, who debuted for Team USA in the 1994 Presidents Cup has accrued the most points (32.5 points in his 12 appearances). Next to him, Tiger Woods ( who represented the USA) has the second-best Presidents Cup record with 27.5 points in his 9 appearances.
Following his new record in the 2024 Presidents Cup with 22 points, Scott now sits third in the list of most points scored in the Presidents Cup, behind Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. Jim Furyk of US team and Ernie Els of International team round off the top five with their tallies of 21.5 and 21, respectively.
Scott will next play the fourball match on Saturday morning. He is paired with Taylor Pendrith to start at 7:02 a.m. ET against Scottie Scheffler and Collin Morikawa.

After setting a new Presidents Cup record for the international team with 22 points, Adam Scott reflected on the performances and talked about how International Team captain Mike Weir and other members emphasized on taking the positives from a tightly contested match. Scott said (via PGA Tour):
“We listened to (International Team Captain Mike Weir) and the other assistants and took the positives of how close it was…We didn’t get defeated … There’s a lot of fight in this team. We’re not gonna go away,” Adam Scott said.
Reflecting on his experience in the Presidents Cup so far, Scott further added:
"It’s been my whole career, really. Lots of great moments; some tough moments, too. I’m going to enjoy this one because this is Taylor’s first win, so I’m stoked for him. He’s gonna have many more,” he added.
After a disappointing outing on day one where they lost all fourball matches, the International team mounted an impressive comeback on the following day. On Friday, the international team won all five foursomes and restored parity in the scoreline - 5&5.
