The 2024 Wyndham Championship is all set to be held at the Sedgefield Country Club from August 8 to 11. The tournament will be held just a week after the end of men's golf at the Olympics, where Scottie Scheffler won gold.

Despite being held shortly after the Paris Olympics, the tournament boasts a strong field featuring top golfers like Shane Lowry, Jordan Spieth, and Keegan Bradley. Additionally, Erik van Rooyen and Camilo Villegas, fresh off their performances at Le Golf National will also be competing.

The Wyndham Championship boasts a prize purse of $7,900,000. The winner will walk away with $1,422,000, while the runner-up will take home $861,100. Only the golfers who make the cut into the weekend will be awarded a cash prize.

According to CBS Sports, Sungjae Im has the best odds to win at +1600. Billy Horschel and Shane Lowry come in second with odds of +2500. Other top contenders include Si Woo Kim, Cmaeron Young, and Min Woo Lee.

This tournament will also be the last one before the FedEx Cup playoffs. With only the top 70 golfers in the FedEx Rankings securing a spot in the playoffs, intense competition is expected among those near the cutline.

Jordan Spieth, who is currently 62nd in the FedEx Cup rankings, is one of those who must perform well to maintain his position in the post-season play-offs. The likes of Nick Dunlap (65) and Min Woo Lee (61) will also have to perform well this weekend. Meanwhile, if Lucas Glover (75) and Nicolas Hojgaard (79) prevail, they will be guaranteed a spot in the playoffs.
