Execs praise Arkansas Championship's increased prize purse

There is now more money than ever before in the Arkansas Championship. The sponsors have added $700,000 to the total prize purse, which means every golfer who plays and makes the cut will earn more money than they would have last year.

Jennifer R. Jackson, Walmart's Senior Vice President of Merchandising, said in a statement about the Arkansas Championship via the LPGA Tour:

“There is no time like the present to drive engagement and elevate women’s sports through important initiatives, such as pay equity and sustainability. As a leader on the LPGA Tour, we’re proud to showcase our commitment to building a more sustainable future and advancing equity and inclusion through the platform of the #NWAChampionship.”

Jeff Metzner, Vice President of Walmart Team Marketing & Communications at Procter & Gamble, added that they are "proud to work alongside Walmart and the GEO Foundation" as well as local vendors to provide support and sustainability in the local community. He added that they love that they can continue their efforts to make the area a "great place to live and work for generations to come."

LPGA Tour star Maria Fassi also said:

“I am so appreciative to Walmart and P&G for their continued investment in the LPGA Tour and their commitment to empowering women both on and off the golf course. This tournament is so special to me, and I can’t wait to compete in front of the incredible fans in Northwest Arkansas later this fall.”

The tournament will begin on September 27 and conclude on September 29.
