2024 Andalucia Masters past winners: Exploring the winners for the last 9 tournaments

The next DP World Tour event, the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucia Masters, is on the schedule for this weekend. While the PGA Tour has slowed down a bit following the FedEx Cup season, the DP World Tour has had some of its biggest tournaments recently. The Masters is one of them, and here we take a look at all the previous champions of this tournament. Due to funding issues, several tournaments were canceled following its inception in 2010. There have been nine iterations thus far, thus 2024 will be the 10th.

Previous champions of Andalucia Masters

In 2023, Adrian Meronk, who is now part of LIV Golf, won the Andalucia Masters. The golfer shot 16 under par, which was one better than Matti Schmid. Meronk is not in the field to defend his title in 2024.

The year prior, Adrian Otaegui defeated Joakim Lagergren by six strokes. Otaegui shot 19 under in 2022.

In 2021, Matt Fitzpatrick shot six under par, which was enough to beat Min Woo Lee and Sebastien Soderberg by three strokes.

In 2020, John Catlin won the tournament. In a rarity for the sport of golf, the now-LIV Golf star won with an over-par score, shooting two over par that year, one ahead of Martin Kaymer, for the win.

2019's winner was Christiaan Bezuidenhout. The Spanish golfer shot 10 under, putting him six strokes ahead of a host of T2 finishers: Adri Arnaus, Eduardo de la Riva, Mike Lorenzo-Vera, and Jon Rahm.

2018 saw Sergio Garcia shoot 12 under par, which was four ahead of Shane Lowry. Garcia had also won here in 2017, again after shooting 12-under. That was one stroke ahead of Joost Luiten.

Technically, Garcia winning those two in a row made him a threepeat champion. However, there was a long break for the event. In 2012, it was canceled for a lack of funding and did not return to the calendar until 2017.

In 2011, though, Garcia was the champion. He shot six-under, which was one ahead of Miguel Angel Jimenez.

2010 was the very first iteration of the Andalucia Masters. It was won by Graeme McDowell, whose -3 was two strokes up on Soren Kjeldsen, Gareth Maybin, and Damien McGrane.

Past winners:

  • 2023: Adrian Meronk, -16
  • 2022: Adrian Otaegui, -19
  • 2021: Matt Fitzpatrick, -6
  • 2020: John Catlin, +2
  • 2019: Christiaan Bezuidenhout, -10
  • 2018: Sergio Garcia, -12
  • 2017: Sergio Garcia, -12
  • 2011: Sergio Garcia, -6
  • 2010: Graeme McDowell, -3

Among the field this year, Jon Rahm, Rasmus Hojgaard, Matt Wallace, Thorbjorn Oleson, David Puig, Thriston Lawrence, Niklas Norgaard Miller, Victor Perez, and Yannik Paul are the headliners and have some of the best odds to win.

The tournament will commence on October 17 and conclude on the 20th. It will be played at the Real Club de Golf in Sotogrande, Spain. It is a home contest on the DP World Tour for Rahm, Puig, and others. Aside from its current name, Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucia Mas, the tournament has also been called the Andalucía Valderrama Masters at times.
