US golfer Nelly Korda is set to start her Paris Olympics campaign on August 7, 2024, at the Le Golf National. She will be going in as the World No. 1 in her second Olympic Games.

In the build-up to her tee-off, Olympic Golf shared a post of Korda holding a whiteboard with fun details.

One of the bits that fans found amusing was her response to the 'favorite Olympic sport' prompt. She wrote gymnastics over golf.

Women's gymnastics recently wrapped up at the Paris Olympics. The star of the show was US gymnast Simone Biles. In her third Olympics appearance, Biles racked up an all-around gold medal, a team event gold medal, a vault gold medal, and a floor silver medal.

She is the most decorated US gymnast of all time, with a whopping 11 Olympic medals across Rio, Tokyo, and now the Paris Olympics. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Biles has a net worth of $25 million.

She has 5 skills to her name in vault, balance beam, and floor exercise. While gymnastics in itself has always been a favorite amongst viewers at the Olympic Games, Biles has been a big factor in drawing interest with her gravity-defying performances.

While Nelly Korda's favorite Olympic sport not being golf is a surprise, her choice of gymnastics is understandable.

Nelly Korda will be aiming for gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics. However, that is not the only goal she has for her time in the French capital.

On the whiteboard, under 'My goal for Paris...', she wrote:

"Try a Crookie #yum + play some good golf too,"

A Crookie is a combination of a croissant and cookie in France, with the croissant dough stuffed with biscuits and sugar. Croissant is a staple for any tourist in the country.

A Crookie recipe was created by Stephane Louvard, a baker in Paris, went viral on TikTok. The explosion on social media was so much that Louvard's bakery started to rake in almost a thousand orders a day.

This recipe has spread to other bakeries in France, with bakers coming up with their variations, mixing croissants with brownies, doughnuts, and even muffins. It now seems like the World No.1 golfer will also be flocking to a bakery to try the infamous Crookie.

Along with trying this viral delicacy, Korda will aim to defend her gold with the aforementioned "good golf". She has had an incredible year with six wins out of seven starts so far. What's more: five of the six wins were consecutive.

Korda also bagged her second major title this year and returned to the top of the rankings.

An Olympic gold medal is the one honor she would love to add to her incredible 2024 season so far. For that, she must outperform some tough competition in the form of Minjee Lee, Hannah Green, and Aditi Ashok amongst others.
