Last month, the PGA of America announced that Keegan Bradley would be the captain of Team USA for the 2025 Ryder Cup, which is set to be played at the Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York in September.

With team Europe having a head start in preparations, fans worldwide were left speculating about the USA's progress considering the late captain pick. Earlier this month, Luke Donald announced that Edoardo Molinari will be serving as a vice-captain for team Europe.

Bradley issued a statement today via the Ryder Cup, naming Webb Simpson as his vice-captain. The former Ryder Cup teammates are set to officially begin preparations for the prestigious event as they aim to regain the crown after a disastrous showing last year.

Here's what Bradley had to say about the latest addition to his Ryder Cup team.

"Webb [Simpson] is someone who I have long admired as a competitor and friend. He possesses a wealth of team golf experience and knows what it takes to win. Webb will be a valuable member of our leadership team and a trusted resource for me as we prepare for Bethpage Black next September."

Team USA 2025 Ryder Cup standings

The 12-member team will ultimately be decided by points, as well as the captain's picks made by Keegan Bradley. The top six players on the official standings with the most points will automatically qualify for the team.

However, the remaining six players will be chosen by Bradley via a captain's pick to join him at Bethpage Black next year. Here's a look into the top 15 players on the standings along with their points.

  • Xander Schauffele - 9,580.956 points
  • Scottie Scheffler - 9,145.556 points
  • Bryson DeChambeau - 6,993.000 points
  • Collin Morikawa - 2,478.133 points
  • Brian Harman - 2,250.561 points
  • Billy Horschel - 2,037.223 points
  • Wyndham Clark - 1,936.213 points
  • Patrick Cantlay - 1,613.255 points
  • Russell Henley - 1,600.426 points
  • Tony Finau - 1,575.878 points
  • Sahith Theegala - 1,234.287 points
  • Max Homa - 1,229.883 points
  • Maverick McNealy - 876.387 points
  • Harris English - 809.343 points
  • Taylor Moore - 762.756 points

With Bryson DeChambeau ranking inside the top six, golf enthusiasts worldwide are questioning whether the LIV Golf star will be playing for team USA at the Ryder Cup next year due to his status with the Saudi-based league. However, Keegan Bradley has already made it clear that he is not biased to choosing players from a specific tour. He simply wants "the best 12 players" on his team.
