Adam Scott compares Scottie Scheffler’s season to ‘those great years of Tiger Woods’

Scottie Scheffler remains virtually undefeatable as he emerged victorious at last week's Tour Championship. Following a score of 30 under par 264, the American secured a grand cheque worth a whopping $25 million and earned the title of 2024 FedEx Cup Champion.

Adam Scott tied for fourth place at the Tour Championship with a score of 19 under par. During his post-round press conference, he compared Scheffler to golf legend, Tiger Woods, who won the FedEx Cup in 2007 and 2009.

When asked if Scheffler could be compared to Woods in his prime, Scott said:

"Yeah, I think that's fair. I think all the stats back that up. I think that the results back it up. It's been pretty incredible, from really starting at Bay Hill, I guess. I think it is on par with those great years of Tiger's. I think it's very hard today for anyone to separate themselves as much as Scottie Scheffler has. I don't think we've seen that in a long time. I think it's harder to do it today."

Adam Scott said that the World No. 1 golfer's performance on the PGA Tour is comparable and could potentially rival that of Woods. Scottie Scheffler's seventh victory this year has brought his season earnings to $29,228,357 and his career earnings to a whopping $71,793,586.
