The last opportunity to qualify for the FedExCup playoffs has ended following the conclusion of the PGA Tour's regular season with the Wyndham Championship. Aaron Rai won the tournament by two strokes over Max Greyserman and jumped from 53rd to 25th in the FedExCup standings.

Scottie Scheffler was ranked first in the FedExCup playoffs with 5,993 points owing to his six wins this year. The last person to qualify for the FedExCup playoffs was Emiliano Grillo with 684 points.

However, several notable names have failed to advance to the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship. The tournament will be held from August 15 to 18 at TPC Southwind in Shelby County, Tennessee.

Let's take a look at the five big names who'll be missing the tournament:

#1 Rickie Fowler

Rickie Fowler, the winner of the 2015 Deutsche Bank Championship, finished at 108th position with 374 points in the FedExCup standings. Fowler had a dismal 2024 season with only two top-25 finishes in 20 starts. He failed to have a single top-10 finish this year.

He skipped the 3M Open and the Wyndham Championship as he and his wife Allison Stokke welcomed their second child, Nellie, last week. Fowler married Stokke in 2019 and their first child Maya was born in November 2021.

#2 Matt Kuchar

Matt Kuchar finished at 105th with 382 points in the FedExCup standings. Kuchar had only one top-10 finish and four top-25 finishes this year.

After having one of the worst seasons of his professional career, Kuchar almost staged a legendary comeback in the last two tournaments at the 3M Open and the Wyndham Championship.

The 46-year-old was leading the 3M Open and also the Wyndham Championship several times. He tied for third at the 3M Open and for 12th at the Wyndham Championship. He'll be missing the FedExCup playoffs after making it for 17 consecutive times.

#3 Andrew Putnam

Andrew Putnam finished at 73rd with 625 points in the FedExCup standings. Putnam has had two top-10 finishes and six top-25 finishes this year.

A top-10 finish at the Wyndham Championship would have helped him qualify for the FedExCup playoffs. However, he missed the cut despite carding 68 and 69 in the first two rounds.

#4 Lucas Glover

Lucas Glover finished at 78th with 596 points in the FedExCup standings. Glover has six top-25 finishes this year. However, it wasn't enough as he failed to register a top-10 finish this season.

Further, he missed three consecutive cuts in his last three starts. The American, winner of six PGA Tour tournaments, including the 2009 US Open, narrowly missed out on the FedEx Cup. He was just 88 points shy of making the cut.

Glover won the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship in playoffs with a par on the first extra hole against Patrick Cantlay. He won't be able to defend his title this year.

#5 Keith Mitchell

Keith Mitchell finished at 77th with 599 points in the FedExCup standings. Mitchell has three top-10 finishes and 10 top-25 finishes this year.

In 21 starts, he missed six cuts. Three of them came in the last six starts, hence costing him the FedExCup playoffs.
