The PGA Tour is heading towards the FedEx playoffs, which will start this week on Thursday. The first event of the PGA Tour playoffs is the FedEx St. Jude Championship, which will allow 70 golfers to play in the FedEx standings. Then the top 50 from the FedEx St. Jude Championship will go to the BMW Championship.

Following that, the top 30 in the BMW Championship will go to the Tour Championship and the victor of the PGA Tour playoffs will be the one who wins the Tour Championship.

This year an array of top-tier PGA golfers like Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark, and others made it to the top 70 in the FedEx standings to play at Memphis. But some golfers failed to make it to the PGA Tour playoffs.

Golfers who failed to make it to the PGA Tour playoffs

Davis Riley: The golfer stands at 71st on the FedEx standings and failed to get a place at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. His last chance to make it to the playoffs was the Wyndham Championship, where he finished T38 and got only 17 FedEx points. Riley only won the Charles Schwab Challenge this year.

Kurt Kitayama: The golfer is 73rd on the FedEx standings and clinched only two top-ten finishes at the Phoenix Open (T8) and the 3M Open (T6).

Lucas Glover: Last year, Glover won the Wyndham Championship and the FedEx St. Jude Championship. In 2023, he finished in 18th place in the Tour Championship, the last event of the playoffs, which was won by Viktor Hovland. But this year, Glover’s 77th rank on the FedEx standings couldn't get him into the playoffs.

Keith Mitchell: The PGA golfer is 76th on the FedEx list and had three top-ten finishes this year at the American Express, Cognizant Classic, and the RBC Canadian Open. Mitchell couldn't make it to the PGA Tour playoffs.

Nicolai Hojgaard: Nicolai Hojgaard is 81st on the FedEx standings and his last chance of making it to the playoffs was the Wyndham Championship, where he failed to make the cut and get into the weekend.

Harry Hall: Hall is at 86th place in the FedEx standings and he failed to make the cutline at the Wyndham Championship.

Chris Gotterup: He stands at 94th place on the FedEx standings and couldn't make it into the FedEx event this week even after winning the Myrtle Beach Classic earlier this year.

Matt Kuchar: He's positioned at 103 in the FedEx standings and will fail to make it to the FedEx Cup. Kuchar has a record of previously never failing to make it to the playoffs but this year he missed more than 10 cutlines on the Tour.

Ryan Fox: Fox is 104th on the FedEx list and only the top 70 will make it to the playoffs.

Rickie Fowler: Fowler is in 106th place on the FedEx list and didn't play at the Wyndham Championship. His last appearance was at the Open Championship, where he couldn't finish under the top 70.
