Brazil defeated Uruguay 2-1 in the Confederations Cup semifinal securing a place on Sunday’s final at Rio de Janeiro. Diego Forlan of Uruguay missed a penalty in the 14th minute as Julio Cesar dived to his left to stop a low penalty kick. Fred put Brazil ahead just before the half time but Edinson Cavani scored an equaliser just three minutes after the beginning of second half. However, it was Paulinho who headed home the winning goal for Brazil from a Neymar corner.
