Vasteras and Hacken return to action in the Swedish Allsvenskan when they locked horns at the Hitachi Energy Arena on Monday. Having gained promotion last season, the hosts have struggled to impose themselves in the top flight and are currently rooted to the bottom of the table.
Vasteras turned in a performance of the highest quality before the lengthy league break as they thrashed Kalmar 4-0 at the Guldfageln Arena on June 6.
This was a much-needed respite for Kalle Karlsson’s men, who had failed to win their previous six matches, losing four and claiming two draws in that time.
Karlsson will hope his side can pick up where they left off as they look to secure successive competitive wins for the first time since October and begin their surge from the bottom of the table.
Hacken, on the other hand, returned to winning ways in their last outing before the break as they picked up a 4-1 victory over AIK on June 2.
Since then, Pal Arne Johansen’s men have been involved in two friendly games, losing 3-2 against Kalmar on June 28, two days before scoring a 4-2 victory over Halmstads.
With 20 points from 13 matches, Hacken are currently sixth in the Allsvenskan table, five points adrift of third-placed Djurgarden in the UEFA Conference League qualification spot.
