United Arab Emirates and Iran face off in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday

United Arab Emirates and Iran return to action in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers when they go head-to-head on Tuesday. Amir Ghalenoei’s men have won their last six games against the Eyal Zayed and will journey to the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium looking to extend this dominant run.

United Arab Emirates kicked off the third qualifying round of the World Cup on a high as they secured a 3-1 victory over Qatar in their Group A opener last Thursday.

After falling behind to Ibrahim Al-Hassan’s 38th-minute opener, the Eyal Zayed upped the ante in the final half-hour as Harib Suhail, Khaled Aldhanhani and Ali Saleh all found the back of the net to turn the game on its head.

UAE have now gone unbeaten in five consecutive games, picking up four wins and one draw — a run which saw them finish first in Group H of the second qualifying round.

Elsewhere, Iran were made to work their socks off on Thursday as they scraped a 1-0 victory over Kyrgyzstan at the Foolad Shahr Stadium.

Inter Milan striker Mehdi Taremi delivered the goods once again as he struck in the 34th minute to put Ghalenoei’s men in front before they turned in a solid defensive display to see out the win.

Like UAE, Iran finished first in Group E of the AFC World Cup second qualifying round and will be looking to open a three-point lead at the top of the table on Monday.
