Breidablik visit the Toše Proeski Arena in Skopje, North Macedonia on Thursday to face Tikvesh in the first leg of their clash in the UEFA Europa Conference League first qualifying round. The Icelandic side made history last season by qualifying for the tournament proper, but couldn't progress any further than that after struggling in the group stage.
They lost all six of their group matches, against Gent, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Zorya Luhansk to finish last in their group.
After coming third in Iceland's top-flight Besta deild karla, the Blikar reached the qualifiers and are in contention to qualify for the second edition of the Conference League in a row.
But for that, the Kópavogur outfit will have to improve their form, as they are winless in their last three official games coming into the fixture. Standing in their way next are Tikvesh, who are making their European debut.
Coming fourth in the 2023–24 Macedonian First Football League season, the Winegrowers qualified for the first round of the Conference League qualifiers, marking their first such appearance in Europe.
