Matthijs de Ligt celebrates after scoring for Manchester United.

Manchester United beat Southampton 3-0 at the St Mary's Stadium on Saturday, September 14, to get back to winning ways post the international break.

Southamption started the game on a brighter note, as the hosts looked to destabilize the visitors through their wingers. Tyler Dibling was rampant on the right flank and was rewarded for his persistent attempts as he won a penalty as he forced Diogo Dalot into an error. Cameron Archer failed to capitalize on the chance as he saw his attempt from the spot saved.

Manchester United opened the scoring through Matthijs de Ligt as he headed one in to break the deadlock in the 35th minute of the game. Minutes later, Marcus Rashford doubled the lead following a brilliant finish post a good sequence with Amad Diallo.

The Red Devils looked comfortable post the restart and kept the ball ticking. Alejandro Garnacho was at the receiving end of a brutal tackle by Jack Stephens who was red carded for the same. The Argentinian capped off the game with a calm top corner finish after combining well with Casemiro to secure all three points for his side.

On that note, let's take a look at the player ratings for Manchester United.
