Manchester United target Manuel Ugarte has been reportedly left out of PSG's squad for theor Ligue 1 opener at Le Havre on Friday (August 16). In his lone season at the Parc des Princes in 2023-24, he contributed three assists in 37 games across competitions.

Despite his contract at the club not expiring before 2028, Ugarte has been the subject of interest from multiple clubs, especially United. With the Red Devils keen on shoring up their midfield, the Uruguayan has been identified as an option.

As per Manchester Evening News, the Parisians' asking price of £50 million is posing to be a problem. However, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has tweeted that Ugarte has been left of the squad for their league trip to Le Havre.

The player reportedly is keen on a move to Old Trafford, but the Parisians still hold all the aces in a potential move.

The Red Devils have been fairly busy in the transfer market, shoring up various areas. They snapped up Lille centre-back Leny Yoro, Bayern Munich centre-back Matthijs de Ligt, Bayern full-back Noussair Mazraoui and Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee.

However, with Casemiro looking set to continue while Scott McTominay faces an uncertain future, the focus is on strengthening the midfield before the transfer window closes.

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has admitted that the team isn't 'ready' for the new Premier League season. However, he added that it's not an issue unique to the Red Devils.

The Dutchman said that he hopes to make the best of the available players at his disposal, including the newly arrived ones, and put out a 'strong' selection. Ahead of the Fulham clash on Friday (August 16), he said (as per the BBC):

"The team is not ready, but the league starts. There are more managers who definitely have this problem, but we have to make a start. We can't hide from it. We can't run away from it. We have to deal with it."
"It's not about the players who are not available. It's also what I said always last season - it's about the players who are available, and we have a good group, we can make a strong selection."

United are set to be without new signing Leny Yoro, Luke Shaw and forward Rasmus Hojlund for the clash with the Cottagers.
