Manchester United continue their search for a creative midfielder, with Marek Hamsik of Napoli the latest to warrant the watchful eye of David Moyes on his recent tour of Europe, according to The Express.

Moyes has already been to watch Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba at Juventus and Blaise Matuidi of Paris Saint-Germain this week and has been spotted in Naples, where he is believed to be running the rule over the Slovakian schemer.

Hamsik is reported to be the most available of his midfield targets, with Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentiis always willing to listen to offers if the price is right.

Moyes has made a central midfielder his priority, with his current charges failing to provide the ammunition for his United side to mount a credible title challenge, but has found himself repeatedly rebuffed in his advances for targets.

Hamsik only signed a new deal with Napoli last summer taking him up until 2018 and is in no hurry to leave the club, as they continue to threaten the upper echelons of Serie A, in the hope of landing a first Scudetto since 1990.

A deal is unlikely to be struck until the end of the season, with Hamsik cup-tied for the Champions League anyway, and much will depend on Manchester United managing to qualify for the Champions League.

Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be interested, and the fee believed to be enough to get De Laurentiis to start negotiations is in the region of £25 million.

Hamsik has created 20 chances in 12 appearances for Napoli this season, more than Tom Cleverley, Ryan Giggs and Shinji Kagawa put together for United (19).
