Liverpool new boss Arne Slot looks on.

Liverpool are reportedly contemplating a move for Crystal Palace centre-back Joachim Andersen. The Dane has been with Palace since 2021.

Andersen, 28, has contributed three goals and six assists in 112 games across competitions. Five of those goal contributions came in 38 outings in the Premier League last season, where Palace finished 10th, but Andersen was especially impressive in the 1-0 win at the Reds.

Despite being contracted to Palace till 2026, there has been interest in the defender's services. As per Caught Offside (via Empire of the Kop), the Reds are 'monitoring' the player, who's valued by Palace at over £50 million.

Andersen was the star in Palace's Anfield win last season, making an impressive 13 clearances as the Reds saw defeat at home. Considering his towering presence at the heart of defence, he could be a formidable partner for captain Virgil van Dijk.

The Reds need defensive reinforcements after the departure of Joel Matip, who left this summer. Under new boss Arne Slot, they will look to improve on their third-placed finish as they seek a top-two finish and possibly add to their 2020 Premier League title.
