Arsenal are reportedly looking to snap up Palmeiras wonderkid Vitor Reis, a Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United target. The 18-year-old centre-back has scored twice in 12 appearances across competitions for the Brasileiro Serie A side.

Despite being contracted with Palmeiras till 2028, Reis has caught the attention of top clubs from across the continent, having started 10 times in the last two months following his debut in June. According to Diario AS' Edu Borges (via HITC), the Gunners are in the fray for the teenager's services, along with the three other aforementioned clubs.

Mikel Arteta's side have been relatively quiet in the transfer market this summer, signing Bologna centre-back Riccardo Calafiori and making Brentford goalkeeper David Raya's loan move permanent.

Meanwhile, Los Blancos have signed former PSG striker Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer and has also landed Endrick, after he turned 18 this summer. Carlo Ancelotti's side's have had success scouting the South American market, with Endrick joining the Brazilian duo of Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes.

The reigning La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners commenced their 2024-25 season with a 2-0 win over reigning UEFA Europa League winners Atalanta in Warsaw on Wednesday (August 14). Fede Valverde and debutant Mbappe were the two scorers.

Following a somewhat underwhelming pre-season - winning one of three games - Real Madrid are off to a winning start to their 2024-25 campaign by winning the UEFA Super Cup in the Polish capital.

It marked their record sixth success in the competition, one better than their arch-rivals Barcelona and Serie A giants AC Milan, as legendary boss Carlo Ancelotti registered his 13th title with Los Blancos. The Italian is just one title off record holder Miguel Munoz's mark, having won three UEFA Champions League and two La Liga titles, among others.

Los Blancos now turn their attention to the league, where their La Liga title defence commences at Mallorca on Sunday (August 18), having won two of the last three titles.

Meanwhile, Arsenal get their 2024-25 season up and running on Saturday (August 17) when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers. Mikel Arteta's side have finished runners-up to Manchester City in the last two seasons as their league title drought enters a third decade.

Arsenal have had a decent off-season, winning three of their five friendlies, including the last two at the Emirates.
