Strasbourg and Fiorentina are reportedly looking to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic on loan. The 24-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge last summer from New England Revolution.

Petrovic, though, is coming off an unconvincing debut season with the Blues, keeping seven clean sheets in 31 games across competitions. Five of those shutouts came in the Premier League, where Mauricio Pochettino's side finished sixth, winning their last five games.

However, with the Argentinian getting replaced by Enzo Maresca in the summer, Petrovic could also be out of the club, albeit temporarily. That's because as per BBC Sports reporter Nizaar Kinsella, Strasbourg and Fiorentina are interested to snap up Petrovic on loan.

The report adds that the Blues are willing to let the young goalkeeper leave to gain vital first-team experience in another league.

Petrovic, though, is apparently unsure of his development plan at Stamford Bridge, especially about going to a 'lesser' league or playing back-up, having been the No. 1 for large swathes of his Stamford Bridge stint.

However, with Maresca signing Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal, Petrovic's game time is likely to drop significantly if he opts to remain with the the Blues. It's pertinent to note that Strasbourg wish to have the Blues man as their No. 1, but they are also on the lookout for Lyon's Anthony Lopes.

Chelsea commenced their pre-season with a 2-2 draw with Wrexham at the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara. Christopher Nkunku broke the deadlock for the Blues inside 35 minutes before Luke Bolton restored parity just before the hour mark.

Wrexham took the lead through Jack Marriott 19 minutes from time, but the Blues hit back through Lesley Ugochukwu 11 minutes later to force a share of the spoils in the four-goal thriller.

Maresca's side then lost 4-1 to Celtic at the Notre Dame Stadium in Indiana. The Scottish side scored through Matt O'Riley and Kyogo Furuhashi before the break before Luis Palma and Michael Johnston made it 4-0. The Blues scored a late consolation through Christopher Nkunku from the spot.

Next up, the Blues brought up their first win of the Maresca era by beating Club America 3-0 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Nkunku, Marc Giuu and Noni Madueke were the scorers.

Maresca's side, though, lost 4-2 to Manchester City in their next outing at the Ohio Stadium in Columbus. Erling Haaland's hat-trick floored the Blues, who scored through Raheem Sterling and Madueke.

In their latest friendly, Maresca's side lost 2-1 to Real Madrid at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. Madueke scored for the Blues after Lucas Vazquez and Brahim Diaz had put Los Blancos two goals ahead.

Chelsea close their pre-season with a home clash with Inter Milan on Sunday (August 11) before hosting City in their Premier League opener seven days later.
