West Ham United are interested in former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham and are leading Bournemouth in the race for the Englishman. Abraham was linked with a Manchester United move in May 2023.

The Hammers are looking to bolster their attacking options and have already made a massive swoop by bringing in Nicklas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund. While Jhon Duran is their primary target, Aston Villa reportedly want £25 million and Abraham could be a bargain option.

Bournemouth are also interested in a new striker after selling the prolific Dominic Solanke to Tottenham Hotspur. Abraham is also on their radar but West Ham are understood to be leading the race at this point.

Abraham, currently at AS Roma, has also attracted the interest of top Italian clubs, including AC Milan. Given Milan's size and the chance to play Champions League football, joining the Rossoneri could be a more attractive option for Abraham. However, the striker is understood to be pursuing a move where he'd get more first-team playing time.

Abraham, 26, has so far made 119 appearances for Roma, scoring 37 goals and providing 13 assists. He is an academy product of Chelsea and played 82 games, scoring 30 goals and providing 10 assists. Abraham has ample Premier League experience under his belt with 26 goals and five assists from 89 appearances.

Abraham is contracted with Roma until the 2025-26 season. With several top clubs linked with a move for the 11-time England international, the saga could get interesting in the coming days.

When former Chelsea and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho hailed Tammy Abraham

Jose Mourinho has coached Chelsea, Manchester United, and other top English clubs during his career. The Portuguese has often helped players get a surge in their careers. He also formed a fruitful relationship with Tammy Abraham at AS Roma.

Back in 2022, the current Fenerbahce boss praised Abraham for his performance against Leicester City in the Conference League semi-finals. Mourinho said (via Nottingham Forest News):

"We have got into this situation where I demand a lot from him because I know he can do amazingly well. I don't think it's an easy decision for a young player to leave his club, his house, his city, his country and to leave the Premier League which is of course a competition that when a player is in its hard to leave."

Abraham played 107 games under Jose Mourinho, scoring 36 goals and providing 13 assists. The 26-year-old could soon be on his way back to the Premier League.
