Turkish giants submit £13m bid for Manchester United star, Red Devils holding out for £25m: Reports

Galatasaray have reportedly made a £13 million offer for Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay. Erik ten Hag recently acknowledged there was interest in the Scot after an impressive 2023-24 campaign.

Turkish journalist Ali Naci Kucuk reports that the reigning Super Lig champions have tabled a bid for McTominay. This doesn't meet the Red Devils' £25 million valuation of the 52-cap Scotland international.

McTominay, 27, was a key member of Ten Hag's side last season, registering 10 goals and three assists in 43 games across competitions. Most of his appearances came from the bench, and he's unlikely to be a regular starter next season.

Ten Hag spoke about McTominay's situation last week and suggested he wanted him to stay at Old Trafford. The Manchester United boss said (via transfer expert Fabrizio Romano):

"If you score 10 goals in a season and perform very well for Scotland there will be interest. We want to actually keep him because he's a very important player for us. We've seen what he can contribute last season."

McTominay is with United for their pre-season tour of the United States as speculation grows over his future. He has a year left on his contract and has also been linked with Fulham.

Sky Sports' Dharmesh Sheth reports that the Cottagers are set to make a new offer for McTominay. He's been at Old Trafford his entire career, climbing up the youth ranks before debuting at senior level in 2017.

"I don't think anyone has scored as many last-minute goals or late goals as him, as winners. He's important to the squad you can see it, it's there for all to see in black and white."

Ferdinand questioned whether McTominay would want to continue being an impact player or take on a more prominent role elsewhere:

"I just think he's got a big decision to make at the end of the season, there were rumours he was leaving in the summer... I think it's up to him because he has the decision to make, does he want to stay at Man United and be somebody that can come on and impact games at times?"

Manchester United are undergoing a rebuild under new co-owners INEOS, and many first-team players' futures are in doubt. They could cash in on players like McTominay, who have a year left on their contract.
