Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking to sign Brentford striker Ivan Toney, who has also been linked with a move to Manchester United. According to TBR Foobtall, the Spurs also hold an interest in Bournemouth number nine, Dominic Solanke.

This transfer window provides the opportunity for the Bees to cash in on Toney, who only has a year left on his current deal. Should they choose to let the England international continue with them beyond this summer, Brentford will risk losing their striker for free next year.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou is also seemingly an admirer of the 28-year-old attacker and said earlier this year (via The Boot Room):

"Yeah look I think he's a fantastic player and you can see just how important he is to that Brentford team. He changes it almost overnight.
"They've obviously been going through a rough trot in terms of results in recent times, and they've obviously had their fair share of injuries. But as soon as he comes into that team, he gives them a different look, both as a player but also the presence he had."

Toney would be a wonderful addition to the Spurs lineup and would allow Heung-min Son to operate on the left flank after the South Korean played as a striker last season.

Moreover, the Brentford star is Premier League-proven, having made 85 appearances in the English top-flight to date, bagging 36 goals and 11 assists. A move to the north London outfit would be a step up in his career and allow him the chance to fight for the Champions League spots in the 2024/25 campaign.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed that Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, who are interested in Ivan Toney, would have to pay £45-50 million for the player this summer.

He also stated that the player is not against the idea of a free transfer in 2025, which could potentially open bigger doors. Speaking to talkSPORT, Jacobs said (via Hotspur HQ):

"If he is to go this summer, it's understood that Brentford would be looking for somewhere in the region of £45-50 million. Manchester United and Spurs are the two clubs to watch."

Manchester United's need for a new striker may have been reduced after they brought in Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna for a reported £36.5 million. They've also got Rasmus Hojlund to play the number nine role.
