Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe has reportedly set himself a remarkable goal-scoring target for his first campaign at the Santiago Bernabeu. The French striker joined Los Blancos this summer after running down his contract at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

According to El Chiringuito TV, the 2018 World Cup winner wants to finish with at least 50 goals at the end of the season across competitions (via Madrid Universal). It is relatively early this year, but Mbappe has already managed to find the net seven times and bag an assist in 10 appearances across competitions.

Apart from the 38 matches that are guaranteed in La Liga, much will depend on the number of matches he sees in cup competitions. Many would expect Mbappe to lead the line in most of Real Madrid's UEFA Champions League fixtures as well, which would give him the opportunity to reach this milestone.

Of course, the number of games the Spanish giants see in Europe's highest competitions would also depend on their progress in the competition. That being said, not many would bet against them, after they managed to win the Champions League in the previous campaign.

As far as Mbappe's recent records are concerned, he managed to finish the 2023/24 campaign with 44 goals and 10 assists in all competitions for PSG. The year before that, the 25-year-old struck 41 goals and produced 10 assists in 43 matches.

Mbappe will be looking to add to his tally of goals in Real Madrid's upcoming league fixture against Villarreal at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday (October 5).

Kylian Mbappe will seemingly be available for Real Madrid's weekend clash against Villarreal after suffering a muscular injury. He did make an appearance off the bench in his team's UEFA 1-0 Champions League defeat to Lille on Wednesday (October 2).

Moreover, manager Carlo Ancelotti has also clarified that the issue with the Frenchman has now been resolved. He told reporters during a press conference (via Sportsmole):

"He had a problem that seems to have been resolved. He has trained normally. I don't get involved in what the national coaches do."

Despite his return, Mbappe has been left out of France's latest squad for the upcoming international break. He's a vital player for Les Bleus, having made 86 appearances across competitions for the national team, bagging 48 goals and 35 assists.
