Real Madrid star decides future amid interest from Liverpool and Arsenal: Reports

Both Arne Slot
Both Arne Slot's side and Mikel Arteta's outfit are keen to sign a midfielder in the future.

Real Madrid star Aurelien Tchouameni is uninterested in leaving his club despite recent links with Liverpool and Arsenal, as per acclaimed transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Tchouameni, who left AS Monaco in a transfer worth up to £85 million in 2022, is considered a key starter at Los Blancos. The 24-year-old defensive midfielder has helped his club lift seven trophies so far.

Speaking on the Here We Go podcast, Romano provided insight into the recent rumors about Liverpool and Arsenal keeping tabs on Tchouameni. He said (h/t Empire of the Kop):

"Many people raised rumours about Liverpool, Arsenal, and Tchouameni in 2025. I wanted to clarify something for 2024, 2025, 2026, whenever. The intention of Tchouameni is to stay in Real Madrid. The intention of Real Madrid is to keep Tchouameni as a crucial player for that project. For present and future. They are in love with Tchouameni; with the player, with the professional."

Shedding light on the Frenchman's situation at Real Madrid, he added:

"How he acted in the centre-back position was something really appreciated by the technical staff in Madrid. So, it's absolutely not even considered for Real Madrid to sell Tchouameni. The situation is perfect between the club and player."

Sharing more information on Tchouameni's future, Romano concluded:

"I can guarantee at the moment, despite all the rumours, we know how many clubs can appreciate a top player like Tchouameni… but in terms of concrete possibilities for him to leave Madrid – at the moment, zero."

Tchouameni, whose current deal will run out in June 2028, has scored three goals and laid out five assists in 93 overall outings for Real Madrid.

Liverpool, Arsenal keen to sign 25-year-old

According to HITC, Liverpool have identified Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo as a top offensive target for the summer of 2025. They are likely to face competition from Manchester City, Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United in the race to sign the left-footed wide operator.

Brentford, who sold Ivan Toney to Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ahli for £40 million earlier this summer, are reportedly keen to offer Mbeumo a new contract. However, the Cameroonian is in no rush to sign a new deal.

Mbeumo, whose current contract will expire in June 2026, has established himself as one of Brentford's top performers since arriving from ESTAC Troyes for £6 million in 2019. The 25-year-old has netted 53 goals and provided 42 assists in 203 total games for his club so far.
