Real Madrid have reportedly contacted Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold for a potential move next year. The Englishman's contract with the Merseysiders will expire in the summer of 2025, and he is heavily linked with the La Liga giants.

During an interview after the Reds' 3-0 victory over Bournemouth (September 21), Alexander-Arnold said that he's only focusing on the ongoing season. He refrained from making any comments about his future at Anfield, saying (via Liverpool.com):

"I want to be a Liverpool player this season (as a minimum). I want to win trophies; I am a player who is highly motivated by trophies and winning things and being elite. So that is probably the main factor of everything. If you have a personality that is elite, who wants to win and will do anything to win, then that is what drives me."

He also said that the contract extensions he has signed with the Reds have been private, and he would maintain privacy if he pens a new deal. Nevertheless, as per Rodra P of Relevo, Real Madrid are keen to sign the 25-year-old and have already started talks with the Englishman.

Trent Alexander-Arnold made his senior debut for Liverpool in 2016 under former manager Jurgen Klopp. Over the years, he became a crucial part of the team, which also won the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League. The English defender has made 318 appearances for the first team, bagging 19 goals and 83 assists.

Trent Alexander-Arnold gets called up for international break, other Liverpool stars snubbed

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been named in the English squad for the upcoming October international break. The Three Lions will host Greece at the Wembley Stadium on October 10 before traveling to Helsinki to face Finland on October 13.

Alexander-Arnold's Liverpool teammate Curtis Jones has failed to secure a spot on Lee Carsley's English national team. Meanwhile, Harvey Elliot is currently out due to an injury.

Joe Gomez is also overlooked in the squad, while former Reds forward Dominic Solanke has been called up for the first time since 2017. He's scored three goals in the last three games for Tottenham Hotspur.

Trent Alexander-Arnold started both games for the Three Lions against the Republic of Ireland and Finland during the last international break. The likes of Harry Maguire, Jarrod Bowen, and James Maddison have also missed out on the squad.
