According to a report by journalist Ekrem Konur, Real Madrid are looking at Bayer Leverkusen's Jeremie Frimpong as a potential replacement for the injured Dani Carvajal if their move for Trent Alexander Arnold fails. The Dutch fullback was a key member of the Bayer Leverkusen team that went almost undefeated last season.

Carvajal's injury sees the Madrid-based club down to only Lucas Vazquez who has any experience playing at right-back and only six senior defenders in the squad.
