Leicester City are reportedly eyeing a move for Liverpool attacker Fabio Carvalho after ending talks for Arsenal's Reiss Nelson. This is according to The Athletic, who reported that the Foxes wanted to bring Nelson in on a loan deal with an obligation to buy (via Metro).

However, Steve Cooper's men deemed that the Gunners winger, valued at over £20 million, was out of their budget and that they were looking for cheaper options. That being said, Portuguese star Carvalho might also be too expensive a signing for Leicester City.

The Reds are said to have rejected a £15 million bid for the attacker from Southampton. Given Carvalho's versatility, he would be an ideal inclusion after the Foxes lost Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Chelsea in the transfer window.

The former Hull City star can operate as an attacking midfielder and play out wide when necessary. However, he's unlikely to get regular minutes at Anfield, thanks to the amount of competition in the midfield area and out wide.

To date, Carvalho has made just 21 senior appearances across competitions for Liverpool, bagging three goals and no assists. Should the 21-year-old remain out of their reach, Leicester City could look at his teammate Ben Doak, who is a cheaper prospect.

The 18-year-old Scottish winger has made 10 senior appearances for the Reds and is yet to register a goal contribution.

Liverpool's Fabio Carvalho is set to fall further down the pecking order if the Reds complete the signing of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace this summer. The Merseysiders are said to be long-term admirers of the England international, and reports continue to link him with a move to Anfield (via Football Insider).

The 26-year-old is a versatile talent who is capable of playing as an attacking midfielder and down the left flank. However, he would face competition in the wide areas from the likes of Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota, among others at Anfield.

It is believed that Eze has a release clause on his current deal at around the £60 million mark, with three years left on his contract at Selhurst Park. It is reported that in order to prevent teams from triggering this option, the Eagles have opened fresh contract talks with the player.

To date, he's made 124 appearances across competitions for Crystal Palace, bagging 26 goals and 17 assists.
