Serie A giants looking to sign Arsenal defender

Several Serie A clubs are reportedly looking to sign Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu. The Gunners might be ready to offload the Japan international in the January transfer window. As reported by Caught Offside, Mikel Arteta's side could offload Tomiyasu having grown frustrated with his injury problems.

Serie A trio Juventus, Inter Milan, and Napoli are said to be interested in Tomiyasu's signature. The versatile Japanese defender formerly played for Bologna in the Italian top tier where he caught everyone's eye and eventually joined Arsenal.

Tomiyasu has done fairly well for Mikel Arteta's side since joining the Gunners in the summer of 2021 in a reported £16.7 million deal. However, his injury records have been fairly concerning with the player missing 50 games with injuries.

The 25-year-old is capable of playing in both full-back positions as well as a centre-back. However, Arsenal have no shortage of quality and depth in their backline and could do without Tomiyasu.

The Gunners have William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Ben White, Jakub Kiwior, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Riccardo Calafiori, and Jurrien Timber in their ranks. Cashing in on Tomiyasu could be a wise decision from the north London giants' point of view.

Real Madrid plotting a move for Arsenal superstar

Real Madrid are reportedly looking to offer Rodrygo to Arsenal in a swap deal to land William Saliba at the Santiago Bernabeu. As reported by Football Transfers via TBR Football, Los Blancos are big fans of the France international who has established himself as one of the best centre-backs in the world.

Arsenal signed Saliba back in 2019 from Saint-Etienne but the Frenchman spent three back-to-back seasons away on loan. He eventually made his debut for the north London giants in 2022 and has not looked back since.

Saliba has made 89 appearances for Mikel Arteta's side so far and has been capped 23 times for France. The defender has his current deal at the Emirates expiring in 2027 and the club are looking to tie him down on a long-term deal.

Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing a move for Saliba as they look to solidify their backline for many years to come. They are reportedly even ready to offer star attacker Rodrygo to the Gunners as part of a swap deal to land Saliba.

Rodrygo has been a crucial player for Real Madrid since joining Los Blancos in 2019 in a reported €45 million deal from Santos. The Brazil international, who can play anywhere in the front three, has scored 56 goals and provided 43 assists in 224 games for Los Blancos, winning 12 trophies.
