New Major League Soccer side San Diego FC are reportedly planning to sign Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne next summer. San Diego FC are the newest addition to the league and will feature from the 2025 season. They are the most expensive franchise ever in the league and want to lure in big names in their first season.

As per a report in TBR Football, signing Salah and De Bruyne on free transfers is among the top agendas for the new MLS side. They currently have two of the three designated player slots open after signing Hirving Lozano.

British-Egyptian businessman Sir Mohamed Mansour, the owner of the MLS side, is reportedly pushing to get the Premier League duo to join his side next summer. However, they face competition from Saudi Pro League sides as the two players reportedly have contract offers on their table.

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly pushing Al Nassr to sign De Bruyne next summer. He believes the Manchester City star can help them close the gap on Al Hilal and win them the league title.

Mohamed Salah has been a target for Al Ittihad, and they reportedly had a bid rejected for the forward in 2023. The Liverpool star has been offered wages on par with Ronaldo and the Middle Eastern side are keen on getting him on board.

Manchester City and Liverpool, on the other hand, are said to have not given up extending their respective player's contract.

Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne on their future

Kevin De Bruyne was linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League this summer but the Manchester City star insisted that he did not speak to any club. He said in September (via Yahoo Sport):

"I haven't spoken to anyone. There's been a lot of noises and news. I said in the summer I expect a quiet summer and that's what happened. I've been on holiday, came back, started training. That's it. Nothing to tell. Once the season goes on, I'm sure there will be conversations to be had. I just want to feel good, play good football and this will come in the upcoming months. I don't really feel the rush for the moment."

Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah hinted that this was his final year at the club. He told Sky Sports in September (via GOAL):

"Honestly, I had a good summer. I had a long time to stay with myself, try to think positive because as you know it's my last year at the club. I just want to enjoy it, I don't want to think about it but I feel free to play football, we will see next year."
