Manchester United summer signee Joshua Zirkzee can reportedly part ways with the Premier League giants in January 2025, with three Italian clubs eyeing the Dutch forward. The 23-year-old arrived at Old Trafford in July on a five-year contract from Bologna for a reported fee of £36.54 million.

Joshua Zirkzee made his debut for Manchester United as a substitute in the opening Premier League game against Fulham on August 16, where he scored the winning and only goal of the match.

Fans were hopeful about the singing, with the Bayern Munich graduate recording 12 goals and seven assists in 37 appearances for Bologna last season. However, Zirkzee has not had an impressive run for United, scoring only one goal in 10 appearances for United so far.

Italian news outlet Calciomercato reports that AC Milan, Juventus, and Roma are monitoring Zirkzee's situation at Manchester United and will be interested in signing him in the winter transfer window. The Rossoneri were keen on signing Zirkzee in the summer window and missed out on a deal.

TEAMtalk transfer insider Rudy Galetti reported that there has been a drop in Joshua Zirkzee's value since joining the Red Devils and the club might consider loaning him out in the future.

TEAMtalk also confirmed the Serie A clubs' interest in the 23-year-old forward, with Juventus head coach Thiago Motta reportedly in favor of reuniting with Zirkzee after their time together at Bologna for two seasons.

This potential departure can also give AC Milan another opportunity to acquire the Dutchman at a reduced price.

Dutch legend Ruud Gullit on Joshua Zirkzee's transfer to Manchester United

Former Chelsea star Ruud Gullit shared his opinion on Joshua Zirkzee's transfer to Manchester United, claiming that the 23-year-old forward should have signed for AC Milan instead.

In an interview with Gazzetta, Gullit explained how Zirkzee was already well-versed with the Italian league and could have grown better as a player there. He said:

"Zirkzee should have joined Milan rather than Man United. He knew Serie A and a couple extra seasons in this competition at a top club like Milan would have been ideal for his development. Now, he's in a club with many problems, which is not making his growth easy."
"I hope Zirkzee can turn it around, even if needing some time to settle in is natural. He's undoubtedly a good player but it's hard to do well at Man United in this historical moment," added Ruud Gullit.

In the seven Premier League matches so far this season, Joshua Zirkzee has missed four big chances, with a 11% goal conversion and 79% passing accuracy to his name.
