Manchester United are ready to battle Liverpool in the race to sign Antonee Robinson, according to GiveMeSport. The American left-back has been quite impressive for Fulham in recent times and could be on the move in 2025.

Recent reports have suggested that Fulham want £40 million to part ways with their prized asset. The Red Devils are reluctant to match that asking price but may be forced to pay over the odds for Robinson amid reports that the Reds could hijack the move.

The 27-year-old was outstanding for the Cottagers last season, registering seven assists from 44 games across competitions. He was adjudged Fulham's Player of the Season and has turned heads at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have struggled in the past 14 months due to injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. The left-back position had been the Red Devils' bane, with Diogo Dalot having to operate in that role of late.

Manchester United have apparently identified Robinson as an option. The US international is proven in the Premier League and could hit the ground running at Old Trafford. The Red Devils are reportedly pleased with his efforts and are considering a move in 2025. However, they will face competition from Liverpool for the player.

The Reds are laying down succession plans for Andrew Robertson, who will turn 31 in March. Robinson could be a fine understudy for the Scot and eventually replace him in Arne Slot's squad.

Could Liverpool and Manchester United clash for Antonee Robinson in January?

Manchester United could be forced to splash the cash on Antonee Robinson in January. According to The Sun, Liverpool are considering a move for the American left-back in January.

Fulham remains relaxed about the situation as the player is under contract at Craven Cottage until 2028. The Cottagers are under no pressure to let him go and will be hoping that the Reds and the Red Devils will ignite a bidding war in 2025 for the American.

The London club signed Robinson from Wigan Athletic for just £2 million in 2020. They are hoping to make a massive profit on him in 2025. Should any of his suitors agree to pay the American's £40 million fee, it would make him Fulham's third most lucrative sale behind Aleksandar Mitrovic and Joao Palhinha.

The Merseyside club are eager to get their hands on the player but are keeping their options open as well. If Manchester United win the race for Robinson, Liverpool will reportedly target Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez.
