Manchester United are set to announce the signing of Danish sensation Chido Obi-Martin from Arsenal after a lengthy transfer process, as per Manchester Evening News. The young attacker has finally received clearance from the Premier League to complete his switch to Old Trafford.

Obi-Martin joined Arsenal from Danish side KB in 2022 and emerged as a terrific young talent. In the 2023-24 season, he broke the club's under-18 goalscoring record, netting 29 goals in 17 league matches aged just 16, and also featured for the U21s.

Manchester United were on red alert when it became apparent that Obi-Martin was looking for a move away from Arsenal. The Red Devils reportedly beat multiple clubs to convince the young striker to sign with them.

The youngster's proposed move had to go through a five-stage vetting process as it involved the transfer of an academy player between Premier League sides. The Manchester Evening News report now that the Premier League has ratified the transfer of Obi-Martin to Manchester United after a thorough process.

He will be unveiled as a new Red Devil in the coming days, and is initially expected to play for the club's U18 and U21 sides. Chido Obi-Martin has had to train alone since leaving Arsenal this summer despite the club's best efforts to keep him.

Obi-Martin is eligible to play for England, Denmark, and Nigeria at the international level. He featured for Denmark during the qualifiers for the U17 Euros. The youngster will pen a first professional contract with Manchester United once he turns 17 in November.
