Manchester United and Liverpool face competition for Euro 2024 star

According to Italian sports website TuttoJuve via TBR Football, Tottenham have entered the race for Manchester United and Liverpool target Adrien Rabiot. Rabiot was a key part of the France squad that reached the Euro 2024 semi-finals.

The midfielder is currently a free agent, as his Juventus contract has already expired. Spurs, meanwhile, have already signed Archie Gray, and the club were linked with a move for Chelsea's Conor Gallagher.

The north London outfit is understood to be courting Rabiot as well, who would be a cheaper option as a free agent. The Frenchman, who has ample experience in European football, is also on Manchester United and Liverpool's radar.

Rabiot has played for European giants like Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus. He made 227 appearances for the Parisians before making 212 appearances for the Bianconeri. Rabiot has also made 48 appearances for France at the international level.

A player of his experience and quality could be a good addition to Spurs. However, they might need to fend off interest from two of their Premier League rivals.

Adrien Rabiot's past Liverpool admission could be a big blow to Manchester United fans

Adrien Rabiot had previously claimed that he used to follow the Merseyside club as a child. Rabiot also named Steven Gerrard, an icon of the Anfield club, as one of his idols.

Speaking to Tuttosport in 2022, Rabiot said (via SportBIBLE):

"I used to follow Liverpoool as a kid because I was a fan of Steven Gerrard. He made me dream, so I used to follow the Reds."

Rabiot's words could be a big blow for Manchester United, who have been linked with the player in past windows as well. Apart from his fandom of the Reds, Rabiot also spent time in Manchester City's academy as a young player.

Rabiot also reflected on how English football is different from Italian and French football. The midfielder expressed interest in playing in the league at some point and continuing his evolution.
