Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a move for Liverpool target Joey Veerman as an alternative to Paris Saint-Germain's (PSG) Manuel Ugarte this summer. The Red Devils were looking to close a deal loan deal for the Uruguay international, but the Parisians have made the matter complicated.

According to fichajes.net, PSG are only willing to loan Ugarte out if the agreement contains an obligation to buy the player. This is something that United are hesitant about, and they have now turned their attention to Dutch star Veerman.

The 25-year-old central midfielder has impressed in the recent past and displayed good performances at Euro 2024. With two years left on his deal at PSV Eindhoven, it could be the right time for the Eredivisie giants to cash in on Veerman.

At Old Trafford, he could play alongside Kobbie Mainoo in a slightly more advanced midfield role. Erik ten Hag could also use the Dutchman as a No. 10.

Casemiro has failed to live up to expectations, which has resulted in the Red Devils looking to strengthen their midfield. However, fichajes.net's report clarifies that Manchester United's primary target remains Ugarte. But if the deal collapses, they could look at Veerman.

Last season, Veerman made 41 appearances across competitions for PSV, bagging seven goals and 19 assists as they won the league for a record 25th time.

Manchester United have reportedly received a second bid worth £20 million from Fulham for the services of their midfielder Scott McTominay this summer. According to BBC Sport, the Red Devils will reject this offer, as their valuation of the Scotland international remains higher.

The report also claims that the 27-year-old is looking to play regular first-team football, something he's unlikely to get at Old Trafford. With competition from Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro, along with Manchester United searching for a new midfielder, McTominay is behind in the pecking order.

He has made 252 appearances across competitions for the Red Devils, bagging 29 goals and eight assists. The midfielder has won the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup once each for United.
