Who will sign Jarrard Branthwaite from Everton in 2025?

Liverpool are reportedly looking to hijack Manchester United's move for Jarrad Branthwaite. The Reds see the 22-year-old as the ideal signing for their squad with an eye for the future.

As per a report in the Daily Mail, Liverpool are planning to go all out to sign Branthwaite in 2025. They believe that their rivalry with Everton would not be an issue and that the move should happen as long as they match the asking price.

Fabrizio Romano has also commented on the rumors, saying that Everton are aware of the interest. The Reds are yet to make an approach as per the Italian journalist and all reports of talks are far off the mark. He said:

"No, to be honest, I’m told at the moment there is nothing concrete. The situation is still under control for Branthwaite and Everton. There are no negotiations or talks taking place with Liverpool. The appreciation from Manchester United remains, but they invested big money on centre-backs. So at the moment, the situation remains quiet.
"Obviously, Everton expect big clubs to arrive in the summer of 2025, so I would not be surprised if some of these big clubs will return for Branthwaite, but as of today, there are no concrete talks or negotiations.”

Everton wanted £70 million for Branthwaite from Manchester United in the summer. The Red Devils had offered up to £50 million to sign the Englishman but the Toffees were reluctant to let go of the player below their asking price.

Liverpool legend urged Jarrad Branthwaite to avoid Manchester United move

John Barnes spoke about Jarrad Branthwaite and urged the Everton star to reject a move to Manchester United. The Liverpool legend believes that the Red Devils are not going to help the defender develop and said:

“Going to a club like United with the disunity, the harmony not being right in the collective and the spirit within the club won’t be a good move for anybody at this moment in time. Particularly if he’s now getting into the England squad. He’s not going to go there and automatically change things at United.
"If they're going to be a unit and they're going to be playing well in the harmony and everybody is together then he would be an excellent signing but it's hard for a young player to go there as it was for Jadon Sancho.”

Manchester United signed Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt in defense in the summer. Meanwhile, Liverpool are looking to sign a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk, who is in the final year of his contract.
