Luis Diaz currently has a contract until June 2027 at Liverpool.

Luis Diaz is allegedly unhappy with Liverpool's lack of summer activity with the Colombian attacker attracting attention from Manchester City.

Diaz, who joined the Reds in a potential £50 million move from Porto in January 2022, is considered to be one of his club's best forwards now. He has helped his club win four trophies, including one FA Cup crown.

Now, according to Spanish sports outlet El Nacional, Manchester City are aiming to add Diaz to their ranks this summer. Cityzens boss Pep Guardiola is believed to be a big admirer of the former Porto winger.

Manchester City, who have lifted the Premier League title six times in the past seven years, are willing to lodge a £60 million offer for Diaz.

Diaz, on the other hand, is reportedly disappointed with the Reds' lack of signings this summer. He is of the opinion that the Merseyside club are currently not in a position to challenge for the Premier League title.

As a result, the Liverpool attacker is keen to secure a move away from the Anfield side in the summer transfer window. Apart from Manchester City, Barcelona are also interested in roping in the right-footed player.

So far, Diaz has found the back of the opposition net 24 times and laid out 13 assists in 98 appearances across all competitions for Liverpool.

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk opens up on Reds' failed title push in 2023-24 term

Speaking to club media, Liverpool superstar Virgil van Dijk provided his thoughts on the Reds' failed title challenge last season. He elaborated:

"It's difficult to give an answer to that because there are so many things that play a part. Obviously two other teams were just more consistent, they were better in dealing with the situation, they had more quality. And we were maybe a little bit too inexperienced. We had a little bit of injuries, we were not good enough, maybe the nerves kicked in. That’s definitely something we have to learn."

Opining on his team's ambition in the 2024-25 season, Van Dijk added:

"I can't really put it on one particular thing that went wrong and why we couldn't compete until the last day. I think everyone had to reflect, had to think about what happened last season over the summer, and come back with an improved mindset and skillset and hopefully be successful. That's the aim, we want to be successful, we want to compete until the very last day in every competition."

Liverpool, who last won the Premier League title in 2020, finished third behind champions Manchester City and Arsenal in the 2023-24 table.

The Anfield outfit will travel to Ipswich Town on Saturday (August 17).
