Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly both interested in signing Juventus defender Gleison Bremer this summer. He is expected to cost around £59 million.

The Reds parted ways with centre-back Joel Matip last month upon the expiration of his contract. Meanwhile, Virgil van Dijk is set to turn 33 this July. Hence, they are looking to find a younger and able defender to strengthen the backline.

As per journalist Mirko Di Natale (via TBR Football), Liverpool are interested in signing Bremer this summer. They want to make him the first big signing under Arne Slot but Juventus will only consider offers of at least €70 million (£59 million). His contract with the Italian giants expires in 2028.

Manchester United are also interested in the Brazilian centre-back. Raphael Varane left as a free agent while Jonny Evans' future is still unclear. They are, hence, looking to strengthen their defense as well.

Bremer, 27, recently said about his future (via Fabrizio Romano):

“I’m already at a top club, I’m already at Juventus. We’ll make great things next season, Thiago Motta is an excellent manager and a very good choice.”

He joined Juventus from Torino in the summer of 2022 and has made 83 appearances so far.

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) midfielder Manuel Ugarte has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer. Manchester United are highly interested in signing him and have also started talks with the Parisians, via Fabrizio Romano.

Ugarte's agent Jorge Chijane, though, recently said that Liverpool are also interested in signing the midfielder (via PSG Talk):

“Liverpool? There is a lot of talk but it is not the only club, there are others. There are many possibilities on the table. It’s almost certain that he won’t stay [at PSG], it’s sure he’ll leave. I believe the situation will be resolved.”

The Reds parted ways with Thiago Alcantara this summer upon the expiration of his contract and are looking to strengthen their midfield.

Manchester United, meanwhile, have sent Sofyan Amrabat back to Fiorentina after this loan spell. The likes of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen had a disappointing 2023-24 campaign and the club are looking to replace them as well.

Ugarte, 23, has made 37 appearances for PSG since arriving from Sporting CP last summer, providing three assists.
