Liverpool set to make bids for four players in next 10 days

Liverpool are reportedly set to accelerate their business in the transfer market following a rather silent window so far. As claimed by The Independent via Rousing The Kop, the Reds are ready to make offers for four players in the next 10 days.

It has been an unusually silent transfer window for Liverpool despite the club making a managerial change in the summer. Arne Slot was appointed Jurgen Klopp's successor at Anfield after nine years of the German at the helm.

However, Slot has so far been pretty patient rather than looking for wholesale changes in the dressing room. The Dutchman has now had a proper look at the set of players he inherited from Klopp.

Liverpool have already played three friendly games under Slot and it has been reported that Dutchman is now looking to stamp his authority on the squad. The aforementioned report claims that the Reds are now ready to act in the transfer market.

The Merseyside giants are believed to be looking to sign as many as four players in the next 10 days. It is understood that they are looking for a centre-back, a defensive midfielder and two wide attackers.

It is however unsure which players they could be looking at but Anthony Gordon looks likely to be among the options in the wide areas. The Newcastle United star has been widely linked with a move to Anfield throughout the summer and the rumors are refusing to die down.

Liverpool reportedly keen on selling versatile defender: Reports

Liverpool are reportedly keen on offloading Joe Gomez this summer as they look to raise funds for new arrivals. As reported by Sky Sports via Tribal Football, the Reds believe they are well-covered in the areas Gomez can fill in and are prepared to cash in on him.

The Reds reportedly wanted to use Gomez as part of a swap deal to land Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United. They even had a £45 million bid accepted by the Magpies which would have seen Gomez join the Tynesiders, but the deal collapsed.

Gomez is currently the longest-serving player in the Liverpool senior side and has been a reliable squad player over the years. He joined the Reds in 2015 from Charlton Athletic as an 18-year-old and has made 224 appearances for the club so far.

While Gomez is naturally a centre-back, he has been deployed as a full-back on either flank and even as a number six. He has won eight trophies during his time at Anfield including the Premier League and the Champions League.
