Liverpool have reportedly earmarked Chelsea flop and AC Milan attacker Christian Pulisic as an apt replacement for Mohamed Salah.

The Reds currently are in a tight spot with three superstars in the final year of their respective contracts. Apart from captain Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Salah could leave as a free agent next year.

As a result, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.it, Liverpool are taking crucial steps to potentially ensure a great future at the club now. They are reportedly keen to launch a move to sign Pulisic next summer.

Pulisic, who has a deal until June 2027 at the Rossoneri, is thought to be valued at over £34 million by AC Milan right now. The 26-year-old American is deemed a key player due to his fine form, having registered four goals and two assists in six total matches this season.

Last campaign, the former Chelsea winger found the back of the net 15 times in 50 appearances across competitions. He also registered 11 assists in 3613 minutes of action for his current team, who finished runners-up behind city rivals Inter Milan in the Serie A past term.

Meanwhile, ex-Aston Villa star Gabriel Agbonlahor has claimed that Salah is set to move to the Saudi Pro League next summer. He told talkSPORT (h/t Football365):

"I know Salah's going. I'm hearing it'll be free transfer and how annoying would that be for Liverpool to lose Salah at 32 on a free transfer. I think he'll end up getting more than [Cristiano] Ronaldo is getting paid over there, he'll be the face [of the league]. I can't say [who told me] but I just think he would have signed a new contract by now and it's enough money that he can't turn down over there."

Liverpool urged to sign former Chelsea star

Speaking to British betting outlet Betfred, ex-Liverpool defender Glen Johnson said that his former club should attempt to sign Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi. He said:

"At centre-back, I'd say Marc Guehi. He'd cope fine being the left-sided centre-half and the fact that he didn't move in the summer proves that he's still available. I think he'd bite your arm off at the opportunity to sign for Liverpool and I believe it would be a great deal."

Since leaving Chelsea for £20 million in 2021, Guehi has scored five goals and laid out two assists in 118 overall appearances for his club.

Guehi, who was reportedly subject to multiple offers from Newcastle United earlier this summer, featured in two total matches for Chelsea.
