Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing TSG Hoffenheim striker Maximilian Beier who has been linked with Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund. As claimed by German outlet Bild via Daveockop, the Reds are long-term admirers of the 21-year-old.

Beier enjoyed a brilliant 2023-24 season with Hoffenheim, having scored 16 goals and provided three assists in 35 appearances across competitions. The young attacker boasts exceptional versatility and adaptability and can play across the frontline.

The Germany international has a frame of 6'1" and excels physically as well as technically. He has been compared to Germany and Bayern Munich great Thomas Muller due to his in-game intelligence and ability to find space and hurt the opposition.

As per the report, Borussia Dortmund are in advanced negotiations with Beier. They have reportedly agreed personal terms with the German attacker and have also agreed to match the reported €25 million valuation of Beier.

The BVB need to bolster their attack, with Niclas Fullkrug having completed a transfer to West Ham United. Youssoufa Moukoko could also leave Dortmund this summer.

However, Borussia Dortmund's plans of signing Maximilian Beier could be scuppered by Liverpool, who are considering a move for the versatile attacker. Arne Slot is reportedly looking to add more firepower to his attack and someone like Beier would be a brilliant addition to the Reds.

Moises Caicedo explains why he rejected Liverpool for Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo has explained his decision to reject Liverpool and join the Blues last year. The Ecuador international insisted that the west London giants were in touch with him for several months which is why he snubbed a move to Anfield.

Caicedo said it was hard for him to reject a move to a club like Liverpool but he believes he made the right call. The 22-year-old said, as quoted by GOAL:

"It was a difficult decision because you know Liverpool is a big team. But Chelsea were with me for a couple of months and I felt like I couldn't miss this move. They were with me in tough times when Brighton didn't want to let me go. It was a difficult decision, but 100% the right one."

The Chelsea star added:

"The beginning was tough for me, because you are at a big club, the price, you always have to win every game. It was tough for me because when I was in Brighton, the pressure is less. At Chelsea, it is different. I felt a lot of pressure because you know the club, the history, the players who were there. But after the last four or five months, I felt more comfortable at the club."

Chelsea signed Caicedo from Brighton & Hove Albion in a deal worth £115 million last summer. Liverpool had also agreed on a deal worth over £100 million with the Seagulls for the Ecuadorian but the midfielder snubbed the offer.
