Liverpool striker Jayden Danns is reportedly set to complete a loan move to Championship side Plymouth this summer. This is according to journalist Lewis Bower, who wrote about the 18-year-old's situation on his X account (formerly Twitter).

Given the player's young age and lack of game time at Anfield, it seems reasonable to loan him out to a lower-division team for his development. With the likes of Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, and Cody Gakpo already operating in Danns' positions, it is unlikely that he will be seeing regular minutes.

Speaking about this loan deal, Bower wrote on X:

"Jayden Danns to seal loan to Plymouth."

He also sang the praises of Danns, writing:

"Plymouth fans, you are getting a fantastically talented young player with work rate to match. Wouldn't like to add pressure, but I’d be tentatively excited. If it doesn't hit the ground running, back Danns to work harder."

The England under-18 international came up the ranks with Liverpool's youth academy and has made just five senior appearances across competitions so far. From those matches, he's bagged two goals but is yet to register an assist.

He also came on as a substitute to play 33 minutes in the Reds' Carabao Cup win against Chelsea last season. Up until now, Danns has made 33 appearances across competitions for Liverpool's under-18 team, bagging 24 goals and four assists.

Liverpool legend Ian Rush is hopeful that Darwin Nunez can turn his fortunes around next season after coming under criticism for missing several chances for the club.

To this point, the Uruguay international has played 96 matches across competitions for the Reds, bagging 33 goals. At the opening of the Liverpool museum, Rush said (via Irish Examiner):

"He is a great player. He's had chances he's missed but he's only young and he is getting confident now.
"Hopefully he can get the confidence to say to the manager 'Play me week in, week out' as I am sure Arne Slot will be saying 'I want you as number one (choice).'"

He added:

"He's got everything else, all he needs now is converting chances. He's had a fantastic summer. That breeds confidence."

Nunez bagged two goals in six appearances for Uruguay at Copa America 2024. He will be looking to translate that form into the club season as the Reds gear up for their first league match against Ipswich Town on August 17.
