Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly chasing the signature of highly-regarded Club Brugge defender Maxim De Cuyper. As reported by Belgian media outlet Nieuwsblad, the two Premier League giants are accompanied by the likes of Sevilla, Marseille, Ajax and Wolfsburg in the Belgian's pursuit.

De Cuyper is predominantly a left-back but is versatile enough to also cover at right-back and even on either flank as a winger. The 23-year-old came through the youth ranks of Club Brugge and previously had spells with Club NXT and Westerlo.

The full-back has so far made 63 appearances for Club Brugge and has impressed particularly with his ability while going forward, contributing five goals and 15 assists.

De Cuyper target played a pivotal role for Club Brugge last season as they won the Jupiter Pro League. He is capped twice for Belgium and was a part of the Red Devils' Euro 2024 squad but was an unused substitute in all four games.

Liverpool have Andrew Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas as options at left-back while Joe Gomez is also capable of filling in if needed. Robertson has had his fair share of injury struggles in recent seasons while Tsimikas has not been able to entirely convince over the past four seasons.

Arsenal, on the other hand, are also in search of a left-back to provide competition for Oleksandr Zinchenko. Kieran Tierney and Jakub Kiwior are both out of favor at the Emirates and are expected to depart before the transfer deadline day.

Liverpool and Arsenal have reportedly been offered the chance to sign former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) midfielder Marco Verratti. The Italy international moved to Qatari side Al-Arabi last summer after spending more than a decade at the Parc des Princes.

Verratti established himself as a PSG legend after joining the French capital club in 2012 from Pescara. He made 416 appearances for the Ligue 1 side scoring 11 goals and providing 61 assists in the process.

The Italian midfield maestro won a total of 29 trophies for PSG while winning the European Championship with Italy in 2020. As claimed by HITC via Express Sport, the 31-year-old is eager to return to Europe and has been offered to both Liverpool and Arsenal by his agents.
