Kylian Mbappe could become a part-owner of the Ligue 2 outfit.

Kylian Mbappe's family could reportedly soon call themselves owners of French Ligue 2 club Stade Malherbe Caen. They are in advanced talks to take over the Normandy-based outfit and would become owners of Mbappe's France teammate N'Golo Kante's former team.

RMC Sport and Ouest-France reports that the Mbappe family are edging towards a takeover of SM Caen. The club's current owners, Oaktree Capital Management, have informed minority shareholder Pierre-Antoine Capton that they are withdrawing their ownership.

Capton will need to find new investors , and Kylian Mbappe's family will likely take over at the Stade Michel d'Ornano. The new Madrid striker's mother, Fayza Lamari, runs the family business and wants to acquire a majority stake.

Mbappe, 25, underwent a trial at SM Caen during his childhood before emerging as one of Europe's greatest talents. The Ligue 2 outfit finished sixth last season and last played in the French top flight in 2019.

Kante is probably the most famous former player to ply their trade at the Stade Michel d'Ornano, making 82 appearances. Caen also once boasted the likes of William Gallas, Mathieu Bodmer, and Thomas Lemar.

Real Madrid sell a staggering number of Kylian Mbappe shirts on day one of its release

Kylian Mbappe is officially a Real Madrid player and will wear Los Merengues' No.9 next season. The shirt is already available for fans to buy, and they've been in a hurry to get their hands on it.

El Chiringuito TV reports that Madrid have sold more than 7,000 shirts on day one. The La Liga giants' online shop has earned €800,000, a jaw-dropping amount considering it's only been out for a day.

The Frenchman is the latest high-profile name to don the club's famous No.9. Karim Benzema and Alfredo Di Stefano are two icons who wore the shirt number in the Spanish capital.

Mbappe will be officially unveiled as a new Madrid player on Tuesday (July 12). His signing is one of the biggest in Los Blancos' history and a long time coming, as they chased his signature throughout his time at Paris Saint-Germain.

The France captain will put a disappointing Euro 2024 campaign behind him after his nation crashed out in the semifinals. They suffered a 2-1 loss to Spain, and the 2022 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot winner managed just one goal and two assists in five games. He suffered a broken nose in Les Bleus's opening 1-0 win against Austria.
