Jamie Carragher believes Wataru Endo will leave Liverpool this summer. He reckons the midfielder doesn't fit into Arne Slot's plans and is likely to part ways.
After missing out on Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez to Chelsea, the Reds signed Wataru Endo from VfB Stuttgart last summer. He had a decent season, making 43 appearances across competitions and registering two goals and one assist.
During Liverpool's pre-season this summer, Endo started just one of the four games. He started their latest clash against Las Palmas on Sunday, August 11. New manager Arne Slot has chosen the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch to play the No. 6 role.
Hence, Carragher believes it's the end of the road for Endo at Anfield as he said on the Blood Red Podcast (via TBR Football):
“I think that last pre-season game, if you’re in the team you have a great chance of playing. He had Gravenberch in that number six position if you like.
“I think the standout thing for me in the holding midfield position is that the manager has played every single player in that role except for Endo. I know he played him in the start of the tour, and he found it difficult. I think Endo will go, I’m pretty confident of that. It looks like he’s the opposite of what he wants in that role.”
He added:
“I think he would play virtually everybody there instead of Endo, Curtis Jones, Gravenberch. I think he will put anyone in there instead of Endo and I think that’s why he will probably move on.”
Endo's contract with Liverpool expires in 2027 and as per Transfermarkt, his market value is €13 million.
Pundit reckons Liverpool could sell Mohamed Salah for a big fee
Mohamed Salah's contract with the Reds is set to expire next summer. If he doesn't sign a new contract, he would be able to talk to foreign clubs in January for a potential transfer next summer. Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad were interested in signing him last summer but Liverpool rejected an offer.
As per pundit Mark Lawrenson, the Merseysiders might consider an offer this summer if it's around £100 million. He said (via Mirror):
"The Saudi Arabian clubs want younger players and that might be the reason they haven’t gone back for Mo Salah.
“He likes it at Liverpool, and he’s been excellent so they will want to keep him but if someone did knock on the door and offered £100 million, I think they’d take it, but it would depend on how longs left in the transfer window. He guarantees you goals. He can be a miserable so and so at times, but he guarantees goals.”
Salah is a Liverpool legend, having joined them from AS Roma in 2017. He's scored 211 goals and provided 89 assists in 349 games for them, winning almost every trophy available.
