According to El Nacional, Diego Simeone wants Atletico Madrid to sign Portugal striker Goncalo Ramos this summer. Ramos is teammates with Cristiano Ronaldo at the international level.

Alvaro Morata has left Atletico to join AC Milan. Los Rojiblancos need a new striker who can pop up with goals on a regular basis. Girona's Artem Dovbyk was the club's first choice and they even established contact with the Ukrainian.

However, Roma's interest has put Dovbyk's move in jeopardy, meaning Atletico Madrid need a new frontman. Cristiano Ronaldo's teammate Goncalo Ramos is reportedly Diego Simeone's next choice.

A deal for Ramos, though, could prove difficult to make, The Portuguese joined Paris Saint-Germain from Benfica just a year ago. He endured a difficult first season in Frennch football, scoring 14 goals and providing two assists in 40 appearances.

Ramos, though, has proven his quality during his Benfica stint and also for Portugal. The 23-year-old is contracted with the Parisians until the end of the 2027-28 season and has an estimated market value of €50 million, as per Transfermarkt.

Diego Simeone has two other names in mind if move for Cristiano Ronaldo's teammate Goncalo Ramos fails: Reports

Diego Simeone reportedly has two other strikers in his mind if a move for Goncalo Ramos fails to materialize. Villarreal's Norwegian striker Alexander Sorloth is an option for Atletico Madrid.

Sortloth, however, doesn't fit the status of world-class strikers Atleti have boasted over the years. They have had names like Fernando Torres, Diego Forlan, Kun Aguero, Diego Costa, David Villa, Luis Suarez, and more at their disposal.

Another player who is on Atletico's radar, and has been named as the dream signing by El Nacional, is Julian Alvarez. The Argentine recently confirmed that he is contemplating his future.

Alvarez, though, could cost as much as €70 million as he is an important player for Manchester City. Atletico are evaluating the situation but are looking to make their final call before the league campaign starts on August 17.
