Chelsea striker Armando Broja is reportedly set to hold talks with head coach Enzo Maresca about his future at the team in the near future.

Broja, who has been at the Blues since 2009, has fallen down in his club's pecking order over the last two seasons. He spent the second half of last campaign on loan at Fulham, making eight appearances.

Since returning from his lacklustre loan spell at Fulham, the Albanian has struggled to impress Maresca. The 22-year-old star played in only 72 minutes of action in the Blues' pre-season tour of the United States.

Now, according to the Daily Mail, Broja will sit down with Maresca in London to talk about his future at the Stamford Bridge outfit. He has recently drawn attention from Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Broja, whose current contract will run out in June 2028, has made 38 appearances across competitions for Chelsea so far. He has found the back of the net just three times and provided an assist for his club.

Chelsea star opines on struggles last term

Speaking to BBC journalist Nizaar Kinsella, Chelsea star Moises Caicedo asserted that he endured a tough time settling in at his current club in the 2023-24 term. The midfielder said:

"The beginning was tough for me, because you are at a big club, the price, you always have to win every game. It was tough for me because when I was in Brighton, the pressure is less. At Chelsea, it is different. I felt a lot of pressure because you know the club, the history, the players who were there. But after the last four or five months, I felt more comfortable at the club."

When queried whether he lost confidence, the Ecuadorian responded:

"Yes, confidence. I have the quality and I know the player I am. But sometimes if you are not strong in your mind, it is difficult. A lot of people around me helped me... [former Blues manager] Mauricio [Pochettino] and his staff. They were with me when I felt like I was not the same Moises. [I asked them] 'Please help me because I want to show my quality, my football.' They were with me."

Since arriving in a potential £115 million deal, Caicedo has bagged a goal and laid out four assists in 48 overall appearances for Chelsea.

The 22-year-old defensive midfielder contributed two goals and three assists in 53 matches in all competitions for Brighton & Hove Albion.
