Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell has been linked with a move to La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid in January. This is as per the transfer expert, Ekrem Konur, who provided an update about the situation on his X account (formerly Twitter).

The former Leicester City defender has had his struggles with injury of late and has now fallen behind Marc Cucurella in the pecking order under Enzo Maresca. As a result, a move away may suit the Englishman, who could earn himself regular minutes.

This season, he's managed just one appearance, a Carabao Cup game, where Chilwell played 45 minutes. Speaking about the player's links with Atletico Madrid, Konur wrote:

"Atletico Madrid is showing strong interest in Chelsea’s left-back Ben Chilwell and is keen on a potential deal in January."
"Atletico’s coach, Diego Simeone, is eager to strengthen his options at left-back with Chilwell, who has recently fallen behind Marc Cucurella in Chelsea’s pecking order."

Even in the 2023/24 campaign, Chilwell managed just 21 appearances across competitions, bagging an assist. Overall, he's played 107 matches across competitions for the west London side, bagging nine goals and 12 assists.

With Levi Colwill also capable of playing in the left-back slot, Chilwell's departure wouldn't be greatly missed at Stamford Bridge. At Atletico Madrid, the 27-year-old will have to compete with Reinildo Mandava for minutes in his full-back slot.

So far in his Blues career, Chilwell has managed to win the UEFA Champions League once and one other trophy.

Manchester United are reportedly set to beat Chelsea to the signing of Antonee Robinson. This is according to GIVEMESPORT, who claim that the Blues have been previously linked with the United States of America international (via The Chelsea Chronicle).

As per this report, the Cottagers would seek about £40 million for this move to go through. As it stands, the Red Devils are in desperate need of a left-back, with Luke Shaw struggling to get back to full fitness. They've had to deploy Diogo Dalot as a makeshift player in that role.

On the other hand, the west London side already have Marc Cucurella, Renato Veiga, and Levi Colwill to play in this position. Additionally, Ben Chilwell is also still at Stamford Bridge, reducing the need for a left-back.

To date, Robinson has made 157 appearances across competitions for Fulham, bagging three goals and 14 assists. He's contracted with his current side till 2028.
