Chelsea new signing could be loaned out even before kicking a ball for the club: Reports

Leicester City v Blackburn Rovers - Sky Bet Championship
New Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca

Chelsea new signing, Marc Guiu, could reportedly be loaned out to Seville ahead of the start of the 2024/25 season. This is as per Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, who say that a temporary move away is being considered for the striker due to the numerous attacking options with the Blues.

Guiu is just 18 years of age and could find it hard for minutes at Stamford Bridge, given the number of strikers already present. Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, and Armando Broja can all play the role.

Therefore, they may be an opportunity for the youngster to get some regular minutes at Seville. The aforementioned report claims that Youssef En-Nesyri's future is uncertain, with only a year left on the striker's agreement at the Sanchez Pizjuan.

Despite these rumors, it is believed that Chelsea see Guiu as a long-term prospect for the club, having tied him down to a five-year deal. He was signed from Barcelona this summer for a reported €6 million, which was the release clause on his previous contract.

While with the Catalan side, Guiu did not see much first-team action, making seven appearances across competitions. He scored two goals in those matches without assisting.

Chelsea have cooled interest in their attempts to sign Aston Villa striker- Reports

Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran

Chelsea have reportedly cooled their interest in signing Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran this summer. The Colombia international was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, and now The Athletic claim that the Blues won't chase after him (via The Chelsea Chronicle).

According to the aforementioned report, the Villans number nine is expected to finalize a deal with the Blue's London rivals West Ham United instead. The move to rethink signing Duran seems reasonable for the west Londoners, particularly after Marc Guiu's signing from Barcelona this summer.

Additionally, the 20-year-old forward is not particularly proven in the Premier League. Last season, he made 23 appearances in the English top flight, out of which he started only three outings.

Although Duran has netted five times in the league, with several appearances coming off the bench, he's yet to be considered a top striker in England. However, for the player, a move away from Villa Park will certainly help, given he's playing second fiddle to Ollie Watkins at the moment.
